Profile

Patricio Domínguez Rivera is an Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). He is Director of Espacio Público, and Principal Investigator of publicly-funded centers MIGRA and Criminal Complexity. An expert in the economics of crime and labor economics with a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, his career bridges high-impact academic research with extensive leadership in social development. He previously served as a Research Economist for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C., where he analyzed labor markets and poverty across Latin America, he has served as President of the think tank Espacio Público, and earlier led the NGO TECHO-Chile as its National Director, overseeing massive emergency housing operations and public-private permanent housing strategies for thousands of families.
