Profile

El profesor Marcelo Gonzalez es Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering de la Universidad de Waterloo, Ontario, Canadá, Magister en Ciencias de la Ingeniería de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile e Ingeniero Civil en Obras Civiles de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Su principal área de investigación es en sistemas y tecnologías de construcción con hormigón. Durante su desempeño como investigador ha participado en proyectos para el Ministerio de Obras Publicas de Chile, FONDEF e Innova Chile, Cement Association of Canada (CAC) y The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Hasta la fecha es autor de 5 papers ISI y más de 15 artículos publicados en conferencias y revistas no indexadas.

En el ámbito académico el profesor Marcelo González realiza las cátedras de Construcción de Obras Industriales, Tecnología de Materiales de Ingeniería Civil, Técnicas Avanzadas de Construcción con Hormigón y Nanotecnología Aplicada a la Industria de la Construcción.

Actualmente participa en dos comités internacionales del Transportation Research Board of the National Academies de los Estados Unidos: Task Force on Nanotechnology-Based Concrete Materials, AFN15T (Abril 2013 al presente) y Basic Research and Emerging Technologies Related to Concrete, AFN10 (Julio de 2015 al presente).
