Homero Larrain es profesor asociado en el Departamento de Ingeniería de Transporte y Logística de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Posee un doctorado en ciencias de la Ingeniería de la misma institución. Es miembro del centro BRT+, colaborador de CEDEUS y miembro del directorio de Ciclo-P.

Sus áreas de especialidad son la optimización, las redes de transporte, el equilibrio en redes de transporte, el ruteo de vehículos. Sus líneas de investigación se centran en la investigación de operaciones (ruteo de vehículos y algoritmos de solución), el transporte público (diseño de servicios expresos), y el diseño de infraestructura ciclista.
