El profesor Julio Pertuzé es Ingeniero Civil de Industrias de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, con Ph.D. en Ingeniería de Sistemas y M.Sc. en Tecnología y Políticas Públicas del Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Durante 2013 se integró al Departamento de Ingeniería Industrial como profesor de jornada completa, y se encuentra realizando los curso de Organización y Comportamiento de la empresa y el curso de Tópicos avanzados en Gestión. Entre 2020 y 2022 se desempeñó como Subsecretario de Economía y Empresas de Menor Tamaño del Gobierno de Chile
Actualmente es Co Director del Magister de Innovación UC.
Sus principales áreas de investigación son la Gestión Estratégica (Innovación, Transferencia Tecnológica, Colaboraciones y Alianzas) y las Políticas Públicas de Ciencia, Tecnología y Educación Superior. Su investigación lo ha llevado a analizar las prácticas de gestión de numerosas empresas multinacionales y cómo ellas colaboran con universidades y centros de investigación.
