Profile

Hugo E. Silva is a faculty member with a dual affiliation in the Department of Transport Engineering and Logistics and the Institute of Economics. He obtained his PhD in Economics from VU University Amsterdam (2015) and holds a Civil Engineering degree and a Master of Science in Engineering (Transport) from the University of Chile (2010).
His research areas are transport economics and urban economics, with a special emphasis on the regulation of transport markets. Hugo is also a Principal Investigator at the Center for Advanced Transportation, Logistics, and Economic Competitiveness (CATLEC) (ANID/CIN 250061) and the Millennium Nucleus on Just Transport (TJUSTO) N°ANID/NCS2025 71.
