Samuel Córdova (Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Chile, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has worked in the national industry as a research engineer in the Systep and Vinken consulting firms, as well as international industry, as a Postdoc Scholar in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His research interests include the operation and control of modern power systems with a significant renewable energy integration in the context of smart grids.
