Miembro de los Centro UC Desierto de Atacama, Centro UC Energía y CSET. Ha dirigido con éxito proyectos Fondecyt, Fondef, FIA, PIA, y de Cooperación internacional. National Contact Point para proyectos de Energía con la Unión Europea. Miembro de la IEA-SHC Task 46 en “Solar Resource Assessment”. Revisor en journals “Solar Energy” “Renewable Energy” “Energy Conversion and Management” y otros. Sus investigaciones se enfocan en evaluación del recurso solar, modelación y simulación de plantas solares de potencia, poligeneración en plantas solares de potencia, captación y distribución de agua a partir de atrapa nieblas, y en general los temas relacionados con la transición hacia un sistema energético sustentable.
